History Between Steve McGarrett and Hannah

Simsy’s note: this is the headcanon that is the basis of a subverse that I’m working on with thisisntfighting over on tumblr this is my personal headcanon for the relationship between McGarrett and Jennings. This is the extended version ;-)

Hannah and Steve had know of each other indirectly via their respective military backgrounds (Hannah being an Operator Military intelligence with British Army  Intelligence Corps and Steve with Naval intelligence and the Navy Seals) they worked on various missions not really having much contact, they where ghosts in the ether so to speak they never really moved in the same circles but they did keep tabs on each others work. 

When Hannah moved to Hawaii 2008 she began her private sector work as an illicit information broker and part time smuggler via her private military company The Teotihuacan Group, within a few years  it drew the attention of the 5-0 task force due to several of her clients being high profile criminals and/or being on the radar of the Honolulu Police Department (Hannah works with shades of grey and isn’t afraid of working with either side of the law) 

Steve realises that in order to go after the bad guys, he needed someone with an intimate knowledge of the criminal landscape on the islands plus someone who was more than willing to work with shades of grey (the type of grey which could get him in trouble with the governor and put him in jail) and someone who wasn’t directly involved with the task force. He approached Hannah with a proposal of sorts and the rest as they say is history.
